Ministry Overview

Addiction to alcohol and drugs can affect any individual from all walks of life.  New Faith Baptist Church realizes a commitment is needed to provide assistance and intervention to individuals who suffer from the addiction of mind and/or mood altering substances.  The SAFE Ministry of New Faith Baptist Church provides support to members of the church and community who are suffering from the effects of drugs/alcohol and Domestic Violence.

The SAFE Ministry is under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Vera Stewart,  Minister of Pastoral Care.  The core value of the SAFE ministry is Authentic Relationships.  The scripture is Matt. 22:37-40.

SAFE offers services for the following populations:

  1. Family members and friends of the addicted person.
  2. Individuals addicted to mood altering substances (current users and recovering persons)
  3. Victims of Domestic Violence and/or their families ( referrals).

The SAFE ministry does not provide psychological services related to diagnosis, treatment or psychotherapy.  The SAFE ministry does provide individual counseling services, crisis intervention, referral services, workshops and focus groups designed to facilitate the increase of knowledge related to substance/alcohol abuse, and Domestic Violence.
